Repsol Honda Unveils 2019 Bikes

Repsol Honda Unveils 2019 Bikes

Since 1995 Repsol has provided iconic liveries to Honda’s factory works team, this year is no different. The new RCV213V bikes will continue to sport the sponsors orange, white and red colours and will continue to do so until at least 2020. Red Bull will also retain their prominent branding space on the teams gear and bikes for the season ahead.

New comer Jorge Lorenzo will be joining Honda’s Golden Goose, Marc Marquez, in what will hopefully be a another very successful year for Honda in the Moto GP championship.

The pair were both present at the unveiling of the new bikes last month at the team’s headquarters in Madrid. Despite Lorenzo having recently undergone surgery in his left hand, the pair looked eager to begin their 2019 campaign.

“Marc needs no presentation, for his actions speak louder than words. For Jorge, we want to welcome him in the team, and we are sure that the fact he accepted this challenge proves he is a true champion.” Honda Racing Corporation director Tetsuhiro Kuwata said.

“It is our duty to give them the best [service] possible, and we believe there is no better combination than Repsol and Honda for this task.

“Let's try our best with good spirit, high motivations, to continue being the reference of the MotoGP field.”

Mick Doohan and Alex Criville, Honda’s former 500cc riders were also at the event. Doohan and Criville were the first pair of riders to ride for Repsol back in 1995, the year in which Doohan became the champion.

The 2019 season will kick off on March 10th in Qatar, as Honda sets out to defend their teams’ and manufactures’ titles.
