Honda Motorcycles at SEMA 2019
The SEMA show in Las Vegas is the highlight of the year for many custom houses and enthusiasts. Honda’s stand was celebrating 60 years of Honda in the U.S., showing respect to Honda’s longstanding enthusiast community.
This year we’re treated to something a little different with two legendary Honda’s going under the knife, the Cub and the Monkey.
The ‘City Slicker Super Cub’ took the worlds best selling vehicle of all time (100 million units since 1959) and put a Southern Cali twist on it. Custom Shop Steady Garage took to the task, playing on the bikes appeal to many generations of riders. The ‘City Slicker’ features chopped leg shields, three-piece wheels, a Yoshimura GP-Magnum exhaust, custom hazel-brown seat and two-tone green and white paint.
Next is the ‘Saru With Love’ Monkey. Saru being the Japanese word for Monkey. This bike was the brainchild of builder Arthur Yang who has been Monkey mad since seeing the first few photos of the throw-back model. He immediately placed an order at his local Honda dealership and before it had even arrived, he began to procure all of the special components you now see on the bike. A true Honda enthusiast.
Last but certainly not least, we have the ‘Grey Area’ CRF450L. Having retired from Team Honda HRC recently, motocross star Cole Seely has been keeping busy with his ‘Grey Area’ CRF450L, built with Bleach Design Works owner Mikey Ojeda. Documented in a series of vlogs, the pair stripped down the dual-sport bike and reassembled with Yoshimura, Throttle Jockey and Dubya components.
